Repair & Purchase Terms
Scope & approval
Scope & approvalThese terms apply to Mac repairs, upgrades, restoration, modifications, and equipment purchases from Apple Retro. Your written estimate, service agreement, or product listing describes the particular work or item. We will obtain your approval of the scope and estimated charges before starting service and seek further approval before carrying out additional work or increasing the authorized cost.
Payment & timing
Payment arrangements, any deposit, and shipping charges will be provided before you authorize work or purchase an item. Any remaining balance is due before repaired equipment is returned, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Turnaround estimates depend on the machine’s condition, parts availability, and the work involved. Please tell us about deadlines in advance; we’ll communicate any expected delays.
Your equipment & data
You must own the equipment or have permission to authorize its repair or modification. Back up your data before sending it, and tell us about known faults or previous modifications. Repair work can involve storage replacement or operating-system installation, so data preservation or recovery must be discussed separately. Share only the access details needed for the agreed work, and do not send unrelated account passwords.
Legacy hardware & modifications
Older equipment may have wear, limited software support, or faults that testing does not reveal. We will describe known issues and the testing performed. Repairs and replacement parts depend on availability, and successful restoration cannot always be guaranteed. Permanent case changes, wet sanding, and other cosmetic work require your approval of the expected result and limitations.
Shipping, returns & warranties
Contact us before shipping equipment for service, pack it securely, and keep the tracking information. Shipping arrangements, applicable return terms, and any offered warranty will be stated in your service agreement or product listing. Purchases through a marketplace are also subject to that marketplace’s applicable rules. These terms do not limit rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Cancellations & concerns
Please email promptly if you need to cancel or change an approved job. Any charge for work already performed or parts ordered must follow the arrangements disclosed and agreed to before service. If something is wrong with your repair or purchase, contact support@appleretro.com so we can review the issue and discuss a solution.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by California law, subject to applicable consumer protections. Changes to an approved job must be agreed to in writing. Revised website terms will not change an existing agreement without your consent.
